Waukesha Metro Transit Center “Fragmented Flow”
How was it done?
Here is the very first prototype for the project, created in 2003.
To complete the pieces, the first step was to make full size patterns for each panel.
Right, steel frames were created for all of the units.
Above, the pieces of glass were cut to the patterns of the units.
Above, after putty is applied to each side, the completed panels must be cleaned and set aside to cure for about two weeks.
Right, the cut glass pieces are glazed (soldered) together with a lead caming on each side of the panel.
The installation of the artwork as a whole on site was a complex process. The last step was to add the connecting steel rods, which unify the idea behind the work.
Left, a single finished installed unit.

Below: detailed textures of the colorful glass.
